Reports
How to create, bookmark, and rename reports.
Once you're familiar with the basics of Analytics in Leanplum, you can create your first custom report.
Create a new report
- Select a report from the left sidebar.
- Choose a metric from the dropdown menu above the chart, or click the metric tile below the chart.
- For advanced use cases, you can create your own Custom metrics.
- Set the date range by clicking the dropdown arrow in the top-right corner above the chart. You can choose a pre-defined range from the menu or click custom to enter a start and end date.
- (Optional) Apply a filter. See Filter data for more on this.
- (Optional) Add a group or cohort. See Group and Cohort data for more on this.
To save the report with all your selected metrics and filters, you can bookmark the report for easy access later. Click the bookmark icon next to the selected report in the sidebar to pin it in place.
Rename a report
Click the report title in the sidebar to edit the name of the report. Be sure to keep your titles as descriptive as possible.
Bookmark a report
Leanplum allows you to easily bookmark any custom report you've created, so that you do not have to manually re-enter filters each time you want to view the same report.
Click on the bookmark icon at the end of the report's name. The icon will fill in gray, which means the report has been bookmarked. You can now switch between reports or close the dashboard. The report will always appear in the same section of the sidebar.
Find a report
If you can't find a report you have saved, you can search for any report using the search at the top of the Analytics sidebar.
All reports bookmarked in the General section will always show up in the Analytics sidebar (sorted alphabetically).
In the other sections, if you have over 100 reports in one section (Messages, A/B tests, etc.), not all of the reports will show in the sidebar, but you can search any report by name to find it. These reports are ordered by message/test status, with Active (green dot) reports showing up first, then Inactive, Running, and Finished reports.

Add to Cart occurrences for iOS users
To create a report that shows the number of add-to-cart occurrences on iOS devices over the past week in Leanplum, we will use the Occurrences of Event (specifically our custom "Add to Cart" event) with a filter for users where OS Name is "iOS."
- Select the User Activity report.
- Click the + metric tile to open the Choose a metric window.
- Under Events in the left pane, select the appropriate event (Add to Cart is our custom event for this example).
- In the middle and right panes, choose Occurrences > Total Occurrences.
