Identifying unsubscribed users

Leanplum lets you manage email subscriptions, and you can also look up and monitor users that have unsubscribed from your emails.

Finding unsubscribed users

To see which users have unsubscribed, you can search using an audience on the Audiences page.

  1. On the Audiences page, click Create Audience.
  2. Add a rule and select "Unsubscribed from all email categories".
  3. Make sure the operator shows Unsubscribed from all email categories is true".
  4. Click Refresh Data from the Insights section.

You can also change the "true" to "false" in the where clause to identify users that are still subscribed to your marketing emails.

Targeting unsubscribed users

Because Leanplum tracks unsubscribes as a User preference, you can target users who have unsubscribed for other message campaigns. For example, you could send an in-app message targeted at users who have unsubscribed from marketing emails.

One way to do so is to create a Saved Audience.

📘

You do not need to explicitly target users who are still subscribed when sending new emails. Leanplum does this automatically.
