How to speed up the app update process
Use push to get users to install the newest version of your app
You've just updated your app, and you want to nudge users to install the newest version. In this example, we suggest how to guide users to install your updated app using two different message types: push notifications and in-app messages.
Push notification
- Go to the Campaigns tab of the dashboard. Click Create Campaign and select Single Message campaign type.
- Choose Push Notification as the message type and name the campaign. For example: “App Update Announcement Push”).
- Name your message and customize the message text.
- Under Audience, define a criteria that target users who have not yet updated the app (for instance, by "App version").
- For Delivery, select One-time. Choose a day to send the message and select Optimal time.
- Publish the campaign.
In-app message
- Go to the Campaigns tab of the dashboard. Click Create Campaign and select Single Message campaign type.
- Choose In-app as the message type, select Confirm template and name the campaign. For example: “App Update Announcement In-app”).
- Customize the message text.
- Under Audience, define a criteria that targets users who have not yet updated the app (for instance, by "App version").
- For Delivery, add a display trigger for when “User starts or resumes app.”
- Select exclusions and limits for the message, if desired.
- Publish the campaign.
